Unhas rector, Prof. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu inaugurated new building of the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries Sciences (FIKP), Tuesday (19 April 2022).
The event started at 09.45 WITA took place in front of the new building of FIKP and was attended by the Academic Senate, Deputy Chancellors, Deans, Directors, Head of Institutions within the Hasanuddin University, FIKP academic community and a number of invited guests.
In his remarks, the Dean of FIKP, Safruddin, PhD. expressed his gratitude for the inauguration of this building. Safruddin explained that this building became the administrative center of the faculty, including educational activities. On the same occasion, Safruddin explained the cooperation that has been built by FIKP with strategic partners through various work units including by MARFISH Diving Center and TUK FIKP.
Unhas rector, Prof. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, in her speech mentioned that FIKP is one of the faculties with the most international collaborations and publications at UNHAS despite the simplicity of the old building. He added that the presence of a new building for the FIKP will add comfort which will further support FIKP’s achievements in the future.
After closing his speech, Prof. Dwia was surprised by the entire FIKP academic community who congratulated him on her birthday which also coincided with the inauguration of the FIKP new building.
The culmination of the inauguration ceremony was carried out by the signing of the inscription by the Rector of UNHAS and the cutting of the ribbon by Prof. Dwia conducted together with the Elected Rector of UNHAS 2022-2026, Prof. Jamaluddin Jompa.
Before the event ended, Prof Dwia and guests were accompanied by the Dean of FIKP to tour the facilities in the FIKP Dean Building.
