Kapoposang Island, August 9, 2024 - To advance the tourism sector in Pangkajene and Islands Regency (Pangkep), the 2024 Kapoposang Island Tourism Village LaunPangkepvent was held at Paris Resort, Kapoposang Island, Mattiro Ujung, Liukang Tupabbiring, Pangkep Regency. This event resulted from a collaboration between the Student Organization Capacity Building Team (PPK Ormawa) of the Fishery Diving Club (FDC) Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries (FIKP) Unhas and Mattiro Ujung Village.
The event began with dances and was opened by the MC and attended by some influential figures, including the Regent of Pangkep, Dr. H. Muh Yusran Lalogau, S. Pi., M. Si; Milite District Commander 1421/Pkp, lieutenant colonel infantry Fajar; Head of the Tourism and Sports Office, Dr. Jaenal Sunusi, S. Tp., M. Si; Head of Family Empowerment and Welfare Movement Team (TP PKK) Pangkep, Nurlita Wulan Purnama; and many other community leaders.
In her report, Gracella, Chief Executive of the 2024 PPK ORMAWA FDC FIKP UNHAS Team, explained that this island has great potential to be developed as a tourist destination. Therefore, the team chose Kapoposang Island and took the topic of tourism villages in implementing PPK ORMAWA this year. Thanks to the local government's openness and the community's involvement, especially the local Cemara Laut group.
In his speech, Hasanuddin, Head of Mattiro Ujung Village, thanked the Regent of Pangkep and the Dandim for attending. He hoped this launch would be the first step to advance tourism on Kapoposang Island.
In his speech, the Regent of Pangkep, Dr. H. Muh Yusran Lalogau, stated that Kapoposang Island has long had extraordinary tourism potential, with the beauty of natural resources and preserved coral reefs. He hopes this activity can be a strategic step with a long-term vision and mission for advancing tourism on this island. By saying bismillah,the Regent officially launched Kapoposang Island Tourism Village 2024.
After a series of remarks, the event continued with a ribbon cutting to symbolize the official opening of a new chapter in tourism development on Kapoposang Island. This action marks the start of a joint effort between the government, community, and other stakeholders to elevate the island's tourism potential to a higher level. The ribbon cutting also symbolizes the openness and readiness of Kapoposang Island to welcome tourists from all over, with all its beauty and local wisdom. The event continued with the signing of an Integrity pact as a joint commitment pledged by the Regent of Pangkep, Dandim 1421 / Pangkep, Head of Marine and Fisheries, Head of Mattiro Ujung village, Chairperson of TP PKK Pangkep, BP Maros Pangkep Geopark Area, Head of the ORMAWA FDC FIKP UNHAS 2024 PPK Team and Chairperson of the Kapoposang Island Tourism Awareness Group. To maintain and develop Kapoposang Island as a sustainable tourist destination, the event continued with the screening of the Kapoposang Island Tourism Village profile video and congratulations by the Rector of Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc. The event continued with the inauguration of the Mattiro Ujung Village Tourism Awareness Group as the tourism manager of Kapoposang Island. The event was closed by the MC and a group photo. The event that took place smoothly and enthusiastically is expected to be a starting point in developing Kapoposang Island as a leading tourist destination in Pangkep Regency.
