On June 15, 2022, the Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries, Universitas Hasanuddin, agreed to establish collaboration in oceanographic research and the establishment of an application system for managing Indonesian waters in the Spermonde Islands with the Korea-Indonesia Marine Technology Cooperation Research Center (MTCRC) and other Korean research teams.
The arrival of the MTCRC was warmly welcomed by the Dean of FIKP UNHAS, Safruddin, S.PI., MP., PhD. In his remarks, he said that he is supports all research activities that will be carried out in the future together with the MTCRC. Hansan Park, as Director of MTCRC Korea, also enthusiastically welcomed the opportunities for future cooperation.
On this occasion, before visiting FIKP UNHAS, the MTCRC also visited the Marine Station FIKP UNHAS on Barrang Lompo Island, Spermonde Archipelago. During the visit, the Korea-Indonesia MTCRC visited the facilities at the Marine Station, one of which was the Giant Clams cultivation center located at the Hatchery of Marine Station.
