Students of the Faculty of Marine Sciences and Fisheries (FIKP) UNHAS have once again made a brilliant achievement in the National Scientific Essay Competition held by the University of Halu Oleo (UHO) on 3rd October 2024, in Hotel Horison Kendari. By joining this event with theme of “Mewujudkan Pengelolaan Kelautan dan Pemanfaatan Sektor Perikanan dan Kelataun yang Berkelanjutan Menuju Indonesia Emas 2045”, a number of FIKP Unhas teams took home titles in several divisions, showing their intelligence and inventiveness in fisheries science.
The achievements of FIKP Unhas students in this competition are as follows:
- 1st place in Aquaculture, won by a team consisting of Nur Amelia Rahmayanti, Nur Faizah, Dwi Natasya Djafar, Syafiqah Munirah Ardhi, and Nurhasanah (supervised by Dr. Ir. Edison Saade, M.Sc.).
- 2nd place in Capture Fisheries, achieved by a team consisting of Wahyuramadan, Muh. Arif, and Budiman Nasim Basyirin (supervised by Dr. Rachmat Hidayat, S.Pi.).
- 3rd place in Fishery Product Technology achieved by a team consisting of Alfryan Reinaldi and Alif Arfiansyah Secar (supervised by Dr. Nursinah Amir, S.Pi., M.P.).
This achievement is a true testament to the commitment, diligence, and cooperation of the supervisors and students at FIKP UNHAS. The instructors still give their students all the assistance they need to succeed in school and extracurricular activities.
This success is expected to encourage other students to keep innovating and contributing to advancing knowledge, particularly in marine and fisheries. FIKP UNHAS has established itself as one of the few faculties capable of educating the next generation of national leaders.
