The Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries at UNHAS organized a socialization session regarding the Integrated Management System (IMS) policy on Friday, June 7, 2024, commencing at 9 am. The session took place in the Meeting Room on the 2nd Floor of FIKP UNHAS and was also streamed online via Zoom Meeting.

Moderated by Dr. Nursinah Amir, S.Pi., MP., the session featured Prof. Jeffry Kusuma, Ph.D., who serves as the Deputy Coordinator of ISO UNHAS, as the main speaker. It began with an opening address by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Faizal, ST., M.Si., the Vice Dean for Partnerships, Research, and Innovation of FIKP UNHAS, stressing the significance of this socialization in elevating the university's management standards.

During his presentation, Prof. Jeffry Kusuma elucidated that UNHAS's IMS policy encompasses the implementation of the Educational Organization Management System (ISO 21001), the Anti-Bribery Management System (ISO 37001), the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (ISO 45001), and the Information Security Management System (ISO 27001). FIKP, particularly the Fisheries Resource Utilization (PSP) study program, was chosen as one of the pilot programs for IMS implementation at UNHAS. Prof. Jeffry underscored the pivotal role of commitment from all university constituents, including leadership, faculty, and administrative staff, in the successful execution of the Integrated Management System. He emphasized the necessity of enhancing the competencies of faculty and administrative staff to adapt to this new system, alongside fostering effective internal and external communication. Furthermore, he highlighted risk-based thinking as a primary approach in the integrated management system.

This session marked a significant starting point for implementing the Integrated Management System policy at UNHAS, aiming to foster active engagement from the academic community, particularly FIKP UNHAS, to achieve elevated quality standards.
