The Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries (FIKP), Hasanuddin University, held the celebration of its 30th Dies Natalis under the theme “30 Years of FIKP UNHAS: Creating, Innovating, and Making an Impact.” This event was organized as a reflection on the institution’s journey while strengthening FIKP UNHAS’s commitment to the implementation of the university’s tridharma.

The 30th Dies Natalis of FIKP UNHAS was held on Saturday, 31 January 2026, at the 2nd Floor Hall of the New FIKP Building, Hasanuddin University. The event was attended by university leaders, faculty leaders, lecturers, administrative staff, students, and retirees as part of the extended FIKP UNHAS academic community.

This year’s Dies Natalis was carried out with a simple yet meaningful concept. The organization of the event emphasized the values of togetherness, appreciation, and active participation of the academic community, enabling all elements within FIKP UNHAS to be actively involved in the celebration.

The series of activities for the 30th Dies Natalis of FIKP UNHAS consisted of a ceremonial event as the main agenda, supported by various competitions. These competitions involved lecturers, administrative staff, and students, including badminton, dominoes, cracker-eating contests, marble racing, and slow cycling, all aimed at strengthening togetherness and enhancing interaction among faculty members.

The ceremonial event began with a traditional dance performance by FIKP UNHAS students, showcasing the creativity and spirit of the younger generation. The program then continued with a prayer session and the screening of a Dies Natalis video highlighting the faculty’s journey and achievements over the past three decades.

Remarks were delivered by the Secretary of the Department of Marine Science, the Head of the Department of Fisheries, the Dean of the Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries, and the Rector of Hasanuddin University. In their speeches, the leaders expressed appreciation for the achievements of FIKP UNHAS and conveyed their hopes that the faculty would continue to contribute actively to the development of marine and fisheries sciences.

The festive atmosphere was further enlivened by a special performance from the Administrative Staff Team of FIKP UNHAS. This performance represented one form of active participation by the administrative staff in enlivening the celebration of the 30th Dies Natalis of FIKP UNHAS. On the same occasion, a few remarks were delivered by a representative of retired lecturers and administrative staff, presented by Ir. Ilham Jaya, M.Si. This session became a reflective moment illustrating a journey of dedication and hopes for the continued sustainability of FIKP UNHAS in the future.

As a form of respect and appreciation, the Dies Natalis committee presented commemorative gifts to retired administrative staff member Trikoco Wibowo, S.Sos, as well as to Suriani, SE, an administrative staff member who has been reassigned. This presentation symbolized recognition of the dedication and service that have contributed to the advancement of FIKP UNHAS.

The event continued with a traditional tumpeng-cutting ceremony as an expression of gratitude for the 30th anniversary of FIKP UNHAS, followed by a group photo session with all participants. The announcement of competition winners became one of the agendas marking the conclusion of the formal program. The celebration of the 30th Dies Natalis of FIKP UNHAS concluded with entertainment and a communal lunch. Through this event, FIKP UNHAS is expected to continue creating, innovating, and making a tangible impact on the development of education, research, and community service in the fields of marine science and fisheries.
