“Community Service in Celebrating 25th Dies Natalis Marine Science and Fisheries, Universitas Hasanuddin”

Celebrating its 25th Dies Natalis, the Marine Science and Fisheries, Hasanuddin University held a Community Service activity with the theme "Community Economic Recovery in the Middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic through improving aquaculture skills and fishery product processing". This annual activity was held in Ujung Baji Village, Sanrobone District, Takalar Regency, on Saturday, October 24, 2020.

 The activity carried out was counseling on the Polyculture of milkfish, shrimp, seaweed, and snapper which was delivered by Dr. Ir. Rustam, MP, counseling on the marketing of fishery products by Dalvi Mustafa, M.Sc, processing of boneless milkfish by Kasmiati, STP. MP, Ph.D, as well as free dental examinations by a team of dentists from the Faculty of Dentistry, led by drg. Nursyamsi Djamaluddin. The community service participants consisted of the people of Sanrobone District, including fish farmers and processors, as well as elementary school children, also, of course, the academic community,  lecturers, and staff of FIKP and from the local government of Takalar Regency.

The activity was opened by the Deputy Dean for Academic, Research and Innovation FIKP UNHAS Prof. Rohani Ambo Rappe. In her remarks, she hoped that FIKP and the Takalar Government would always collaborate to make the people of Takalar Regency more independent.

In order to implement health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of participants was very limited and participants continued to use health protocols, wearing masks, keep distance, and using hand sanitizers.
