2020, 6<\/b><\/span>th<\/b><\/span><\/sup> June<\/b><\/span>, Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries, Universitas Hasanuddin was conducted the 3<\/span>rd<\/span><\/sup> International Symposium on Marine and Fisheries. \u201c<\/span>Strengthening Innovations for Aquatic Resource Management\u2019 <\/b><\/i><\/span> is the theme for this year. The international symposium, which conducted in sequence with the 7<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> National Symposium on Marine and Fisheries FIKP Unhas, was the first virtual symposium in Universitas Hasanuddin. The opening remark was delivered by Rektor Universitas Hasanuddin, <\/span>Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, MA, <\/b><\/span>and <\/span>the keynote speaker was <\/span>Dr. Edhy Prabowo, SE., MM., MBA,<\/b><\/span> Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Republic of Indonesia. <\/span><\/p>\n

Attend as invited speaker in this event are <\/span>R. Dwi Susanto, PhD. from <\/span><\/span>University of Maryland, USA and ITB Indonesia, Mr. Cyr Couturier, B.Sc., M.Sc, from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada, Dr. Libby Swanepoel from University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia, <\/span>Associate Prof. Dr. Marina Hassan, from <\/span><\/span>Terengganu University, Malaysia, <\/span>Associate Prof Dr. Muzzneena Ahmad Mustapha from <\/span><\/span>University Kebangsaan Malaysia, <\/span>Erik Teguh Primiantoro, S.Hut., MES, <\/span><\/span>Director for Environmental Impact Prevention of Regional and Sectoral Policy,<\/span> Ministry of Environmental and Forestry<\/span><\/span>, Indonesia and <\/span>Prof. Dr. Ir. Rohani Ambo Rappe, M.Si. researcher and <\/span><\/span>Professor from Universitas Hasanuddin, Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n

The plenary session was attended by 277 participants. More than 150 participants from many private and government universities and institutions (Teuku Umar University Aceh, Universitas Borneo Tarakan, Sekolah Tinggi Perikanan Jakarta, Institut Pertanian Bogor, Universitas Dipanegara, etc) were presenting their research results in parallel sessions. There were 10 groups hosted virtually for parallel sessions (Aquatic Biodiversity, Aquatic Ecology and Conservation, Aquatic Pollution Fisheries Processing Technology and Food Safety, Marine and Fisheries Biotechnology, Marine and Fisheries Biotechnology, law and Development Policy, Socio-Economics and Culture, Sustainable Aquaculture, Marine and Fisheries GIS, marine Ecotourism, Marine Technology, Oceanography, Sustainable Fisheries, Sustainable Aquaculture, Sustainable Fisheries), and one special class for poster session were hold to facilitate the scientific forum for all the scientists and researchers participants. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
