The Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries (FIKP) UNHAS held a public lecture on Friday, 18 October 2024. themed "Outstanding Fishing Ports to Support the Development of Sustainable Capture Fisheries" This activity was held in the FIKP Unhas Hall and presented Kamaruddin, S.Pi., M .Si., Head of Ternate Archipelago Fisheries Port (PPN), as the main speaker.
This public lecture was opened by the Dean of FIKP Unhas, Prof. Safruddin, S.Pi., MP., Ph.D., who emphasized the importance of collaboration between academics and practitioners in managing sustainable fisheries resources. In his speech, he hoped that this event could broaden the insight of lecturers and students regarding efficient fishing port management.
Kamaruddin explained various innovations and strategies at PPN Ternate to support environmentally friendly capture fisheries management. This event was moderated by Dr. Ir. Alfa Filep Nelwan, M.Sc., Head of the Capture Fishery Resources Study Program, and accompanied by the Head of the Committee, Muhammad Kurnia, S.Pi., M.Sc., Ph.D. This activity was also attended by FIKP lecturers and students.
With this activity, FIKP UNHAS hopes that students can increase their understanding of sustainable fisheries management and be ready to contribute to the development of the fisheries sector in Indonesia.
